Digital Heritage: Developing Competencies in the Digitization of Musical Culture Archives

Digital Heritage: Developing competencies in the digitization of music archives is a project carried out by Kacper Nowacki as part of a grant from the National Plan for Recovery and Increasing Resilience. The project is implemented under the Resilience and Competitiveness of the Economy component, investment A2.5.1, Programme for supporting the activities of entities in the cultural and creative industries sector to stimulate their development.

The aim of the project is to develop digital competencies in archiving and digitizing musical cultural resources, particularly in the areas of organizing collections, describing metadata, organizing repositories, and developing standards for working with archival materials. The knowledge gained and solutions developed will be used to prepare the process of creating a digital archive of the International Choral Festival named after Professor Jan Szyrocki in Międzyzdroje, encompassing years of photographic documentation and materials related to the Festival's history.

The scholarship includes participation in specialized training, development of educational materials, internal training for the project team, and the development of an archiving plan specifying the structure of resources, naming conventions, file formats, and data security methods. The project includes preparation for professional and sustainable operations in this area.
